Moving To The Beat of the City
G-Fy-G is a high energy, urban contemporary gospel singing group comprised of youth and young adults ages 16-25, mostly African-American and Caribbean-born. Known for consistent excellence, musical versatility, and cutting-edge creativity and choreography, they are now branded as the hottest new group in the Gospel genre in the New York Tri-State area.
The group have participated in the Pathmark National Gospel Choir Competition (2002), McDonald's Gospel Fest (2003) and (2005) and a feature performance at the Six Flags Gospel Jamboree. Members of G-Fy-G have shared the stage with countless performance luminaries, including Richard Smallwood,
Hezekiah Walker, and Vickie Winans. Accompanying their musical abilities, the members of G-Fy-G are gifted and well versed motivational speakers, bringing powerful messages to youth and imploring them to rekindle the passion they have for life and God.
"I Came to Glorify" is the group's first CD release (Street Date: August 2009). The CD features young and soulful songs from a Caribbean inspired hit "Jesus Is a Rock" to a classic gospel selection re-tooled for the new generation, "Let Everything That Has Breath." G-Fy-G's music not only represents the
black gospel experience but rather the multi-faceted levels of gospel music among people of color, from African-American to Jamaican.
